As part of the eAdmissions National Project, Hometrack SIA has developed the SMART Online system in partnership with Surrey County LEA.
SMART Online is a web-based vaue added service, which an LEA can make available to parents via the Council's website to help them prepare for their child's school admission process. It does not replace the LEA's official admissions procedure.
SMART Online enables parents to determine the nearest schools to their home. LEAs can elect to show school distances either as-the-crow flies or along the road network, and school locations and routes can optionally be shown on a map. Map data from the LEA's own GIS system can be utilised.

Hometrack's SMART software is in use at many LEA’s throughout the country, including 50% of the London Boroughs. This demonstrates that SMART is an excellent choice to help ensure that LEAs are achieving high standards with their e-government objectives.
